Begin your day at Japan House London with an iced matcha, hōjicha or sencha from The Stand – a simple way to reset before exploring the building. Once refreshed, step into KYOTOGRAPHIE: Kikuji Kawada x Ai Iwane, the first photography exhibition at Japan House London. Immersive projections and large‑scale prints showcase the work of two acclaimed Japanese photographers, offering a cool, calm space to wander.
A short walk away you’ll find the Royal Albert Hall, one of London's official Cool Spaces. Join a guided tour to explore the auditorium, learn about the royal love story behind its creation and hear stories from its 150‑year history. If you’re lucky, you may even catch an artist soundchecking for an evening performance!
V&A South Kensington is home to the John Madejski Garden, one of South Kensington's most peaceful summer retreats. Refill your water bottle, grab a cold drink and cool your feet in the shallow central pool, designed to offer a calm oasis on warm days. Surrounded by greenery, lemon trees and flowing water, it's the perfect place to slow down before continuing your day.
Next door, the Science Museum offers another officially recognised Cool Space. Explore air-conditioned galleries including Mathematics: The Winton Gallery, which reveals the role of maths in shaping human innovation. Before you leave, stop by Shake Bar for a made-to-order milkshake or ice cream.
Take a break from the bustle of Exhibition Road in the Natural History Museum gardens. Wander through wetlands, woodlands and grasslands, spot wildlife among the ponds and enjoy a moment of calm surrounded by nature in the heart of the city. If you need a refreshment, stop by the Garden Kitchen for a cold drink, lunch and views across the gardens.
Continue towards Serpentine South Gallery and the 2026 Serpentine Pavilion, a serpentine, designed by LANZA atelier. Inspired by the curves of a traditional serpentine wall and the nearby lake, the light-filled structure offers a peaceful place to pause and enjoy a moment of shade.
Head into Hyde Park and visit the Diana Memorial Fountain, where flowing water and surrounding greenery provide a welcome break on a warm day. Take a seat by the water or cool your feet at the fountain before continuing through the park.
End your day in Hyde Park with a trip on The Serpentine. Hire a pedalo, row a boat or choose one of London’s few electric pedalos for a relaxed journey on the water and a fresh view of the park. For an even cooler experience, head to the Serpentine Lido, one of London's best-known open-air swimming spots. Afterwards, enjoy a cool drink or ice cream beneath the shade of the trees.
